Kellie’s American Smooth was one of our favourites in a beautiful feathered ball gown, and Jay’s Charleston was fantastic.
Aliona’s dress was a fun take on a character costume with her checked shirt!
Anita & Gleb could compete in the Olympics with their Salsa – so full of energy and excitement!
Their matching blue outfits complimented perfectly with a cheerleader inspiration, but unfortunately it was the end of the road for them as they got knocked out on Sunday night.
Let’s take a closer look at three of the dresses from last week’s show....
As worn by Kellie Bright
Dancing the Rumba with Kevin, Kellie looked the epitome of romance in her peppermint dress.
In a soft pastel colour and flowing skirt the base of the dress was constructed from a Peppermint Lycra leotard.
The Mesh top layer is cut to one shoulder and then panels in asymmetric points were joined together to create the top of the skirt.
Peppermint Georgette ¼ circles were then attached to give the skirt its fullness and movement.
The back of the dress features a low v line with a wide band of Preciosa Crystal AB Rhinestones in various sizes.
The single shoulder strap was delicately covered in Preciosa oval sew on stones in Crystal AB.
The entirety of the dress was given that “Strictly Sparkle” by being scattered with SS20 Peridot Preciosa Rhinestones.
Finally to finish off the dress her waist was cinched in neatly with a pleated belt in Silver Metallic dot lycra delicately stoned with plain Crystal Preciosa Rhinestones.
As worn by Anita Rani
Anita’s Foxtrot dress from Saturday is a rather special design.
As featured on last Thursdays’ “It takes Two” her Hawaiian Pink dress stood out for us!
With the halter neck top leading down to alternating chevrons of Tan and Hawaiian pink, it’s the colour contrasts in this dress that made it special.
The body was primarily made from Hawaiian pink Lycra with Tan Lycra top stitched on to create the pattern.
To highlight these contrasts, the perfectly complimenting Preciosa Rhinestones in Light siam AB are heavier on the connecting seams and scattered on the Tan sections.
The Hawaiian pink was left un-stoned to give a stronger colour.
The circular skirt consisted of a Georgette top layer with individual hand glued feathers cut from our Feather Fringe and finished with 3”crinoline to the hem.
Lined with a Tan Lycra under layer, tying in perfectly to the top as well as acting as a ‘modesty’ layer.
As worn by Georgia May Foote
Dancing the cheeky Cha Cha Cha with Giovanni, Georgia looked as stunning as ever.
Striking in festive Flamenco red, her dress was full of detail. Based on a Tan Lycra leotard, Flamenco Lycra was then sewn on top to create the contour shape.
The Tan Lycra sides were then “laced” with Flamenco Stretch Satin made into ribbons giving the illusion of being on bare skin.
This theme was then continued on the reverse with the lacing on the ’v’ back. The stoning detail on the bodice is incredible.
With such intricacy and detail the Preciosa Rhinestones in Hyacinth (to give it the orange tone) were neatly placed in rows and chevrons to imitate the lacing theme.
The skirt consisted of three layers of our Flamenco Tactel Fringe in 30cm length; a great option for movement especially in an energetic dance like the Cha Cha Cha.
